Social Skills Activities
Hello,
I hope that you and your family are healthy and well. Below you will find resources you can use with your child. As always, please feel free to email me should you have any questions! My email is dvinton@cohassetk12.org.

Skill practice: Asking a friend questions.
This link will bring you to an article with fifty questions to get kids talking and a conversation started. Have your child pick a few questions a night, or create their own, and ask family members. What are some great follow-up questions? We have talked about using our “eyes as a tool” and looking for clues. For example, if I see a friend wearing a Star Wars t-shirt, I have a clue about what they like and can ask questions about that. Practice looking for clues to help you come up with questions.

Activity: Watch the video of the reading of, Have you filled a bucket today, A guide to daily happiness for kids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEg38zCOMgk
After you watch the video, think about those people that you live with. Think about what you can do to fill their buckets. Now, though we have many friends and family members that we cannot see in person, how can we fill their bucket? Can we Facetime or send an email? Can we call or send a homemade card? What are your ideas?
